Waunakee Neighborhood Connection

There are a lot of fun ways to raise money or do collection drives.  Help your neighbors by partnering with WNC and planning an event with your family, friends, business or group.  Here are some ideas:

• Pajama Party - At your child’s next pajama party ask guests to bring a new pair of children’s pajamas to donate to WNC children in need!
• Book Club - Have your book club or bible study host a drive for new adult or children’s books. 
• Sock Hop- Sponsor a youth dance with WaunaFest or with your own organization, and give participants a discount for bringing a package of new socks.
• Pampered Chef - At your next home party, ask guests to bring gently used kitchen items to donate to WNC.
• Birthday Parties - In lieu of the large pile of birthday gifts for you or your child, have your guests bring gifts for WNC, such as diapers, laundry soap, toiletries, school supplies, or birthday bag items. 
• Lemonade  & Cookie Stand - Have your children create posters, and make goodies to sell at a stand in front of your house during the summer or during events in town like Garage Sale Days.  Your kids will have fun getting creative, inviting their friends, and collecting their “sales”.  You’ll have fun watching them get interested in serving others!
• Summer Gathering- For your next back-yard barbeque, family reunion or summer party, have guests bring items for WNC instead of host(ess) gifts.  Connect your collection with a theme for the party and enjoy the fun! 
• Family Game Night - When your group or church gets together for a game night, have everyone bring an extra of their favorite game to donate to WNC.
• Linen Ladies - For a ladies event, have guests bring new and used linens - sheet sets, blankets, comforters, bath towels, and kitchen linens are needed.
• Spring Cleaning Day- When hosting an event at your church or business to spruce up your building, consider having participants bring in personal hygiene or household cleaning supplies for WNC. 
• Company Events - Is your company having a summer event this year for your employees?  Challenge everyone to bring items for our “Fun in the Sun” kits, or be creative and collect items that ties in with your event theme. 

The possibilities are endless, the fun is out of this world, and the help you provide a family in Waunakee is priceless.
