Donation Opportunities

There are many ways to support WNC’s programming through monetary or in-kind donations.  Whatever you chose to do, WNC thanks you for your generosity!

Shawn Armstrong, massage therapist and owner of Aligned Body & Spirit, LLC., will donate 20% of the profits from her massage fees to WNC throughout April and May. The timing is perfect! The weather is warm and beautiful and we are all eager to get out and about in our cars. Super Lube in Waunakee will help you get your car ready to go and at the same time, benefit WNC! Visit Super Lube on Friday and Saturday, May 4th & 5th, 2012 and they will donate 10% of the profits on every service provided to your vehicle . Be sure to take advantage of this opportunity. The folks at WNC thank Dan Gleisner, owner of Super Lube for making this opportunity possible!  Click here for detailed flyer!

 Waunabrat Fest Coming Soon!

It won’t be long before the savory smells of grilled brats and dogs will fill the air at WaunaBrat Fest, to be held during Waunakee Garage Sale Days, Thursday, May 10th & Friday, May 11th. M&I Bank is once again hosting their fabulous food event. Pre-order brats, hot dogs, Coke beverage products, and all the trimmings to be delivered to their home or business. Use this handy form and fax in your order, or call ahead at 849-2401.

Charity Champion!!

Help WNC win $1000 by voting for Lori Armstrong and her fourth grade students as the best Charity Champion.  As many of you know, each year they host the “Cocoa Mocha Monday Fundraiser” to benefit WNC at the First National Bank in Waunakee.  Vote up to 5 times per day through May 20 to recognize their effort and help them and us win!

Cake and Frosting Drive by Girl Scout Troop #2810

Stop at Piggly Wiggly on May 19th and 20th between 9am to 2pm and visit girl scouts from Troop #2810. They are holding a Cake Mix and Frosting Drive with the goal of making enough birthday bags to last WNC through the summer. Help them earn their Bronze Award and support WNC at the same time.

The Car Wash Is Coming!

Hurrah! On May 31st, Rachel Rydzewski and the 7th graders from Waunakee Community Middle School will be having a WNC car wash at the Waunakee Summit Credit Union from 4-6 p.m.! Remember, you can always add a little extra monetary donation and the students would welcome donations of shampoo for WNC.

School Supplies Needed

Don’t know what to do with all those extra school supplies? Put your new and used school supplies into the WNC purple bins located at St. John’s School and all Waunakee public schools (except Prairie Elementary). Watch for them from May 21st to the end of the school year.

We will have dates and times available throughout the summer to help assemble the supplies for fall. (Watch the website!) This is the “kick off” of our “Fill the Bus” campaign. Remember to be on the lookout for the WNC Purple bins!

Purple Graduation Gowns Wanted

Do you have a purple graduation cap and gown from the past hanging in your closet? Take it to Cindi Richardson, the administrative assistant at the Waunakee High School. It’s a great way to help out other students and clean out your closet. Questions: call Cindy at 849-2101.

Does Your Group Need A Project?
Would your classroom, club, church, business or group like a service project that would help your community?

WNC has many opportunities for you to get involved.  We know everyone enjoys helping others in our community but sometimes we just aren’t sure how to help out. Take a look at the list below for some ideas.  Contact us and we can help with further ideas and details.

    • Do a drive to collect toiletry items (toilet paper, deodorant, shampoo/conditioner, etc.) or cleaning supplies (glass cleaner, toilet bowl cleaner, all purpose cleaner, etc.).
    • Make kits for upcoming projects such as “Fun in the Sun” items or First Aid Kits.  We’ll give you the list of what to include.  Do the collections, purchasing and assembly.
    • Host a car wash and donate profits to WNC.
    • Host a bake sale and donate the profits to WNC- a great idea during garage sales. Donate a percentage of the money you raise during garage sales to WNC.
    • Donate 10%, $1, or any amount from the sale of business services or items to WNC.
    • Put out a “collection” jar at your local business so folks can easily donate to WNC.
    • Hold a neighborhood party where guests bring items needed by WNC (e.g., diapers, toilet paper, laundry soap, shampoo, hand soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.).
    • Create a neighborhood “carnival” and donating the profits to WNC.
