About WNC
WNC’s mission is to help improve and create a difference in the lives of our Greater Waunakee Area Neighbors by making connections to distribute resources to those in need in a manner which blesses and enhances our entire community. We are also committed to providing respect, care, compassion, prayer and friendship as we work together to accomplish that mission. By reading below and throughout our website you will find some of the ways we fulfill that mission through available programs and services.
We operate a free store which takes in donations and provides them free of charge to anyone who might need them. In addition to shopping at our store once-a-month, we have several programs for clients to participate in. Our client newsletter, which is emailed or mailed every few months, not only provides information on what special programs are being offered, but also the current store calendar.
New programs all the time! We are constantly working with the community to offer more to folks who could use a bit of help. Schools have collected socks and Halloween costumes, grown vegetables, adopted entire families for Christmas, and come to help out in the store. Businesses have provided opportunities for families and kids to participate in community activities and events. Individuals in the area have provided classes and childcare to our clients. If you have something you are passionate about and want to help others, let us know we’ll connect you. Our donor newsletter has information for community members wishing to get involved with information on current donation programs or volunteer needs.

If you or someone you know have an emergency need for services, please dial 2-1-1 to reach the United Way Contact Program. The 2-1-1 operators have emergency contact information for many organizations including WNC.

Did you know we are now on Facebook? Come to our page and “become a fan” of WNC to start to interact and get information in new and exciting ways. Help us spread the word and invite your Facebook friends to become WNC fans too.
Don’t know about Facebook yet? Facebook is a key site in the “social networking” phenomenon online. It allows individuals, businesses, or groups to share information about themselves with others. Friends of WNC or “Fans” can see updates from WNC’s page on their Facebook page. Updates include things like coming events, reminders, calls for help, event pictures, and can even include discussions online.
